Having been with the volunteers on Friday evening when they were setting things up, it was amazing to see the work they put in to transform a nice room in a hotel, into a real 'red carpet' event. Lesley & Alison earned well deserved praise from Tony Palombo (Chairman) for all their hard work to put on the event, as did Keith Lewis from Matchtech who have been proud sponsors of the charity for many years.
I had the pleasure to be asked to photograph the Friends of PICU Hollywood Charity Ball on Saturday evening. 180 guests were joined by the charity's patrons, actress Sarah Parish & children's author Ali Sparkes, for what proved to be a truly memorable evening. It is not often that you attend an event where over £20,000 is raised on the night, or when the £1m fund raising milestone is achieved. Nurse Rosie Mitchell, who founded Friends of PICU, said: “I’m absolutely over the moon that we’ve raised our first million.
